Happy Tuesday everyone! We finally got a break from the frigid temperatures this weekend and decided to venture out of the house for some much needed family time. We took Lil’ Man out to one of our favorite breakfast spots, Founding Farmers (read our review), and then headed over to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo.
If you are currently planning travel to the Washington D.C. area, know that admission to the zoo is free, but that parking fees are set to increase from $22 to $25 on March 15, 2018. If possible, take public transportation to the zoo. Both the busses and metro rail have stops within walking distance and you can plan your trip here.

While visiting the zoo, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with zoo staff and volunteers who will happily answer any questions you might have about the animals. On this trip, we got to learn some new facts about the gorilla and rock hyrax. Click below to see Lil’ Man’s vlog about our adventure!
